Young Socceroos head up Australia’s world football offence

The future stars of the Socceroos and world football meet in Egypt this month for the FIFA U-20 World Cup, broadcast on SBS.

. The national broadcaster is televising every Australia match and the finals LIVE from Monday 28 September on SBS ONE. 

Following in their senior team’s footsteps, having qualified for the pinnacle football event for their age group, Australia’s will have to overcome 2007 runner-up Czech Republic, Costa Rica and Brazil to make it through to the next stage of the three-week tournament.

LIVE match broadcasts will be hosted by Les Murray and Mariana Rudan and joining them in the studio is SBS chief football analyst, Craig Foster. Vitor Sobral will provide the Australia match commentary. 

With eight A-League regulars this Australian squad carries very high hopes of a nation and will need every ounce of experience in a tightly contested group,” said Craig Foster.

“Dutch coach, Jan Versleijen, has undertaken a very rigorous and extensive preparation campaign and will also carry an expectation of excellent performances, so this tournament will be of great interest to every football fan.”
